The Great Smoky Mountains

Tennessee and North Carolina📍

ALL AROUND THE TREES WERE CHANGING COLORS. THE SUN WAS COMING AND GOING BETWEEN THE CLOUDS. THE WIND WOULD CATCH US HERE AND THERE REMINDING US OF ALL THE CHANGES HAPPENING AT THIS TIME OF YEAR.

Top 3 Favorite Smoky Mountain adventures

While the stars are still in the sky, drive down Clingmans Dome Road for seven miles until the road ends in a large parking lot. Take the half mile trail (paved and steep) to the summit to the observation tower.

Look around and experience the beauty that is the Great Smoky Mountains. Truly an unforgettable experience seeing the light rise beyond the edge of infinity.

If you're looking for a challenging hike that will take you to the heart of the Smokies, check out the 2 mile Chimney Tops Trail for some incredible views.

There's a large creek with cool water running near the beginning of the trail. Take a moment at the end of your hike to feel the water.

Take a drive on the Cades Cove Loop to see wildlife in a valley surrounded by the mountains. The 11 mile loop will take you to several different hiking trails and is one of the spots to catch wildlife, like bear, coyote, and deer.

There are so many beautiful roads in this area. When you need a little time to take it all in, a drive may lead you somewhere that will surprise you.

"I loved waiting for the sunrise. We were absolutely freezing up there, but we huddled together and still laughed and hugged each other." - Katie
